School Council is a valuable home/school link that supports the learning environment of our students and your children. The Council acts in an advisory capacity providing ideas and input to assist the principal and where appropriate, school board trustees in their decision making on educational issues. School Council membership includes parents (elected by parents), the principal, one member of the teaching staff, one non-teaching staff representative and, if possible, an appointed community member.
Carleton Heights is lucky to have a dedicated group of parents involved in our school council and…..we need more parents.
• Be involved with your child’s education
• Help create an inviting school environment
• Have input on school decisions
• Be informed of current school activities
• Be familiar with school board policies and procedures
• Consult with teachers/principal to gain an understand of curriculum
• Help raise and allocate fundraising funds
I urge you to consider becoming involved with our School Council. It is a great opportunity to come together and discuss current and future issues which will impact our school community. We also have a lot of fun!
All parents and members of the community are always welcome to attend any of our meetings throughout the school year.
